Girl Effect campaign brand design, visual identity applications

Project Overview

Event Design & Creative Direction | Role: In-house Designer → Creative Lead | 5 Years

While the magazine was the heart of Ni Nyampinga, events were how the brand showed up in the world.

Turamurika was the largest campaign the brand ever did. It ran across all four provinces of Rwanda and reached more than 2 million young people. Our team provided artistic direction, produced all materials, and executed on the ground across every province. The challenge was scale without losing intimacy. The visual language was bold and joyful, turning event grounds into Ni Nyampinga space.

This was team work in the truest sense. I was part of a creative team of 4–10 people working alongside freelancers, producers, and the wider Ni Nyampinga staff.

I also led design on Ni Nyampinga's 5th Anniversary celebration and a high-level stakeholder event for decision makers in Rwanda. Different audiences, different tones, same brand.

Editorial design asks you to guide someone through a page. Event design asks you to build a space they walk into and trust the brand still does its job all around them.
